3 Botched Abortions in Minn. and Still Not Out, by Charlie Butts

Babies born alive during botched abortions in Minnesota apparently have no chance at life – despite a current law designed to protect the preborn victims in the state.

For the year 2018, figures show that abortions are down about 2 percent to under 10,000 – only the third time it has dropped below that level since the 1973 United States Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion from border to border.

Pro-Life Action Ministries Executive Director Brian Gibson contends that three babies killed in late-term abortions likely deserved help – based on Minnesota’s Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

“One is where the claim is that they had severe fetal anomalies, and therefore, they aborted the baby and let the baby die,” Gibson told OneNewsNow. “And then the other two – one is claiming that the baby was born alive during the abortion [but] was not viable; therefore they just let the baby die.”

The baby from the third botched abortion was viable, but nothing was done to care for the helpless child, so it ended up dying later – rather than following state law, and rushing it to a hospital emergency room.

Gibson contends that this kind of tragedy is not all very surprising.

“Their intention is to kill the baby to begin with,” Gibson stressed. “They consider it a horrible complication when the baby is born alive, so their response is to wiggle their way through the law to let the baby die, anyhow.”

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has the task of enforcing the law, but he is rabidly pro-abortion and is one of several state attorney generals who have vowed to not enforce pro-life laws while they serve in public office.
