The problem of homelessness in California isn’t limited to Los Angeles and San Francisco, although that’s typically the focus of news reports. Elizabeth Novak, who owns a salon in downtown Sacramento, recently told the Fox News Channel that she was compelled to move her 15-year-old business out of the state capital because of how bad homelessness has become. She’s says her salon has been broken into, and she has to constantly clean up trash and human excrement off the doorstep of her business.
Novak added that thanks to California Governor Newsom, law enforcement officers aren’t allowed to arrest people who are homeless.
Pastor Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of the Los Angeles-based Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, says the Golden State is literally looking like a Third World country.
“They are now running businesses out of California because [business owners] can no longer deal with it,” he laments. “I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had to run homeless people away from my business. They sleep in the doorways, they don’t care about using the bathroom, and [they] are dumping their waste material on the ground. I’ve seen it happen at the post office and other places. It’s like an emergency situation right now.” ….
