The Pro-Life Action League says there is a solution for the pro-life counselors who are reluctant to man the sidewalks outside abortion clinics out of concern of being arrested.

 

The concern is not unfounded, as, for example, eight pro-life prayer warriors were arrested outside an abortion clinic in early April in Charlotte, North Carolina, even though they were following the law. But Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League does not think that should deter pro-lifers from doing what they can to save babies from abortion.

“We’ve consulted with our attorneys, and they are adamantly convinced that the stay-at-home orders do not prohibit us from going out and getting fresh air,” Scheidler says. “We’re being encouraged to go out and take walks. There’s no reason why we can’t take that walk or get that fresh air outside of an abortion facility.”

He does note that pro-lifers should maintain the six-foot distance rule, and if they are approached by police, the Thomas More Society advises them to explain that they are expressing their First Amendment rights to free speech and free expression while getting that fresh air.  …
