A pro-life researcher says the current Congress may not take the needed action to save babies born alive during abortions, but the states can still do something about it.

There is no way to know how many babies survive abortion procedures or whether they were given medical attention in an attempt to save their lives. Tessa Longbons with the Charlotte Lozier Institute tells OneNewsNow three states have reported that 40 babies were born alive in those circumstances since 2016. But that is just three states.

“States like California, which has the highest number of abortions in the country, [don’t] collect any data on this,” Longbons explains. “Colorado, which performs abortions through all nine months, doesn’t collect any data. And then New York, which actually removed born-alive protections earlier this year, doesn’t collect any data either.”

But the pro-lifer recognizes that some states are better at reporting. ….
