(CNS News) — Given the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) reporting on the dangers of the abortion pill, which include 24 maternal deaths and at least 4,195 cases of adverse reactions, Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), and 18 other senators sent a letter to the FDA urging it to declare the drug an “imminent hazard to public health,” and to remove it from the U.S. market.

“According to FDA reporting, the abortion pill has taken more than 3.7 million preborn lives, caused 24 maternal deaths, and resulted in at least 4,195 adverse maternal reactions, including hemorrhage, excruciating abdominal pain, and severe life-threatening infections,” reads the Sept. 1 letter to FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn, M.D. “Of course, adverse events are notoriously underreported, which makes the true number impossible to assess.”  …
