Washington, DC – Tens of thousands of medical professionals are calling for restored legal protections for unborn babies as the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to hear a major abortion case on Dec. 1.

The message from the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, which represents more than 30,000 doctors and other medical professionals, is simple: Unborn babies are patients, too, and they deserve the same rights and protections as every other human being.

“In the nearly 50 years since the court wrongly decided Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, medical science has progressed significantly and has increasingly supported the pro-life position,” the medical alliance said in a statement earlier this month. “It is time that the law of our land caught up with advances in medical science and supported the human rights of all of our patients.” …
