Msgr. Charles Pope: Coronavirus Stalks in the Darkness, But Do Not Be Afraid

By Msgr. Charles Pope, EWTN News - I write this from my perspective as a priest responsible for the care of souls; I do not claim to be a medical expert. My pastoral concern is that we as a nation and as a Church have succumbed to excessive fear, which bespeaks a spiritual problem. The medical concerns arising from the pandemic are not without merit, but they are not unprecedented. What is unique today is the collective paralysis brought on by this fear. I write to express my concern and to reiterate the constant biblical cry, “Do not be afraid!”

"This is about unity, it is about praying to our Lord God to protect everybody in this town and unite us," Hicks asserted, "because that's what this country needs right now. We've got enough division. And that's what this is about ... This is about protection from our divine Father."

CNA: German Archdiocese Plans to Cut Parishes From 1,000 to 40

By CNA/CNA Deutsch - A German archdiocese is pressing ahead with plans to dramatically reduce the number of its parishes despite the Vatican’s decision to block a similar plan in another diocese... CNA Deutsch, CNA’s German language news partner, reported July 15 that Archbishop Stephan Burger intends to turn the archdiocese’s 1,000 parishes into 40 mega parishes.
