Msgr. Charles Pope, CERC - It is important to resist accepting the premises of an increasingly radicalized movement. Man is not the enemy. Too many activists propose morally unacceptable solutions such as abortion, sterilization, and euthanasia in the name of "population control." Other proposals include heavy-handed government intrusion to limit family size, eliminate entire industries, and ban certain fuel sources violate subsidiarity and are likely to have a disproportionate effect on the poor. Creating hysteria about climate change and warning of impending extinction is an old tactic of this movement.

Francesco Bamonte, who presides over the International Association of Exorcists, wrote on the group’s website that there is a current attempt to present satanism as a perfectly normal alternative to traditional religion and philosophy… “It is even affirmed that the cult of the devil is limited to simple celebration,” Bamonte wrote, “and that the one who practices it does not commit crimes and there is nothing wrong with it.”

I learned of this just the other day, when we received a fund appeal which included a report on “Eucharistic Miracles” from the newsletter of Saint Joseph de Clairval Abbey in France. The report cites scientific evidence which links this miracle to the more famous one in Lanciano, Italy around 750 AD—and by inference to all Eucharistic miracles.
