By Msgr. Charles Pope - In yesterday’s post, we considered the sins of the priests (and they were numerous enough). Today we examine the sins of the people that the Lord sets forth in the Book of Malachi. Here, too, please understand that not everyone is guilty of all of these things. However, they are common human sins and sinful attitudes. So consider this inspired list (for it is from the Lord) and pray for conversion and repentance, for the picture here is all too familiar.

On Oct. 27, the archdiocese, headed by Abp. Salvatore Cordileone, has scheduled "An Evening to Congratulate Cardinal Robert McElroy," the San Diego prelate who recently received the red hat... Archbishop Cordileone's actions are especially disappointing to faithful Catholics, as he is considered among the few orthodox bishops in the Church. Cordileone gained global attention after denying Holy Communion to pro-abortion Catholic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, even as he received scant support from fellow bishops.

By Father Joseph Fessio, S.J., Catholic World Report - The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, was one of two documents issued on the same day, December 4, 1963, the first two documents issued by the Second Vatican Council. The other document, Inter Mirifica, is on social communication. Sacrosanctum Concilium is one of the most important documents of the Council, one that has been the least understood and, I believe, has wrought the most havoc – not by having been fulfilled – but by having been ignored or misinterpreted.
