Msgr. Charles Pope - Prophets are those who speak for God. They love Him and His people. They speak the often-painful truth to God’s people not to win an argument but because of their love and their conviction that only His undiluted truth can save us in the end... People-pleasing and other forms of human respect cannot supplant reverence for God and His truth.

The "sheer volume of allegedly 'scientific' information, comments and opinions, ends up causing confusion for the reader or listener," Francis said, noting that such "fake news" leads to "an explosion of commentary on falsified, if not invented, news."

White, The Catholic Thing - The Church can talk all she wants about “intrinsic human dignity,” but if all the world hears is “People are special and have the right to be affirmed in their choices,” what good is that? The Church can insist that the “common good” is both real and discernable (however imperfectly) but what help is that if the world hears, “Majority opinion determines what is right”? The Church can speak all she wants about “natural law,” but what does that help if nature (including human nature) is presumed to be intrinsically meaningless and therefore ours to manipulate as we will?

Christ calmed the chaos of Peter’s Barque... If Christ could do that then, Christ can do that now. He can calm the chaos of storm and uncertainty that is tossing Holy Church to and fro.
