Congratulations, folks! In terms of sheer diabolical awfulness, you have lived long enough to see the most egregious abominations in history surpassed. On the left (see image above), we have La fête de la Raison (“The Feast of Reason”), an actual event which took place during the French Revolution in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, November 10, 1793. Note how the woman of ill repute stomps on a Crucifix while seated on an altar in what looks to be a Catholic Church.
