By Thomas Gallatin, Patriot Post - One of the most common occurrences when Congress rushes to fix a problem is that there are unintended or unforeseen consequences created by the “solution.” In fact, the bigger the “fix,” the greater the probability for it creating more problems than it solves. Congress’s recent $2.2 trillion CARES Act provides yet another classic case reinforcing this principle… The Paycheck Protection Program, a part of the CARES Act that provides forgivable loans to “small” businesses to help them stay afloat and retain their employees throughout the China Virus-induced economic shutdown, has been undercut by other provisions within the overall legislation.

Federalist Society Expert: Bankruptcy for States ‘Would Finish Off What’s Left of Federalism’, by Robert Kraychik

Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) expressed support for allowing states to use bankruptcy to discharge certain liabilities. “I would certainly be in favor of allowing states to use the bankruptcy route,” he said. “It saves some cities, and there’s no good reason for it not to be available.”… Baker continued, “States have residual sovereignty. Like the federal government, neither can be sued without their consent. That’s the nature of sovereignty. This proposal, if ever enacted, would finish off what’s left of federalism.”

US Bishop: We Must ‘Halt’ Development of Any Coronavirus Vaccine Derived From Aborted Babies

By Martin Bürger, LifeSiteNews - Bishop Joseph Strickland released a pastoral letter asking faithful Catholics to join him in helping to bring to a “halt” any development of a coronavirus vaccine derived from aborted babies… “Tragically, people are not aware of or have chosen to turn a blind eye to the advances in medical science which allow vaccines to be developed with the wholesale use of aborted children’s bodies”… He admitted that “until recently, I knew very little about” the use “of in line stem cells from aborted babies in developing vaccines.”… “As your Shepherd,” the bishop wrote, “I urge you to join me, NOW, in passionately but prayerfully speaking out against this practice. As I said in the beginning of this letter, I will help you navigate this storm as best as I can.”
