By Dr. Gregory Popcak, Catholic Exchange - No one wants to be bitter. It sneaks up on us. Bitterness is unforgiveness fermented. The more we hold onto past hurts the more we become drunk on our pain and the experience can rob us of the joy we can find in anything. Bitterness occurs when we feel someone has taken something from us that we are powerless to get back. We hold on to the hurt in an attempt to remind ourselves and others of the injustice we’ve experienced in the hopes that someone will save us and restore what we’ve lost.

She called protecting the environment a “moral issue” and “the existential threat of our time,” USA Today reports... “If you believe, as I do, that this is God’s creation, this planet, we have a moral responsibility to be good stewards of it,” Pelosi said. “But even if you don’t subscribe to that, you know we have a moral responsibility to future generations.”

If he wants to curtail the practice because he thinks it smacks of clericalism, that’s his prerogative. But he should say so – not least to avoid embarrassing the faithful who are surprised find the papal hand recoiling mid-embrace, and whose surprise and embarrassment is then broadcast around the globe.
