DeWine asked them to vote No on issue 1 because abortions up to birth is too radical... DeWine told “Fox News Sunday” yesterday that Issue 1 is a “radical proposal” because it not only has abortions up to birth but destroys parental rights on both abortions and sexual development.

Grondelski, Ph.D., Catholic World Report - Issue One declares that “every individual has the right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions, including … abortion.” Now, when it comes to the unborn child, is he a “person” or not?... Issue One is unclear. Is he a “person” whose personhood doesn’t count, or at least is preempted by the decision to have an abortion? Or is he not a person at all? Is he a never a person, sometimes a person, or always a person? Issue One doesn’t answer that question, at least clearly.

So far, groups from within and outside the state have dumped more than $40 million into debating the so-called abortion rights amendment. However, some major policies outside the realm of the abortion debate will be impacted if voters write the language of the Issue 1 referendum into the Ohio State Constitution.
