Texas Hospital Starves Quadriplegic COVID-19 Patient to Death Against Wife’s Protests

By Texas Right to Life - St. David’s doctor: “So as of right now, his quality of life — he doesn’t have much of one.” Melissa: “What do you mean? Because he’s paralyzed with a brain injury he doesn’t have quality of life?” St. David’s doctor: “Correct.” Alarmingly, the doctor reiterated the scary reality that she had zero say in whether her husband lived or died. The doctor told Melissa, “but at this point, we are going to do what we feel is best for him along with the state and this is what we decided... this is the decision between the medical community and the state.”

Chief Justice Roberts Sends Troubling Signals in Louisiana Abortion Case, by Lauretta Brown

By Lauretta Brown, EWTN News - U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts cast the swing vote in June Medical Services v. Russo Monday, striking down a Louisiana law that required doctors at abortion facilities to have admitting privileges at a local hospital within a 30-minute radius... The surprising decision disappointed pro-life advocates who were hopeful that he would uphold the Louisiana regulation, especially given his dissent from the 2016 Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt Supreme Court decision striking down a similar regulation in Texas.

Abortion: I Wrote Louisiana’s Pro-Life Law. The Supreme Court Ruled Against Women’s Health. by Katrina Jackson

By Katrina Jackson, Opinion contributor, USA Today - My desire to author the legislation came from listening to the stories of women hurt by abortion as I sat on the Louisiana Health and Welfare Committee and placing myself in their shoes. As I listened, I learned that the women of Louisiana were suffering because of the negligence of medical professionals and deplorable conditions at our state’s abortion facilities... It was alarming to me, for example, that one of our state’s primary abortion clinics, Delta Clinic of Baton Rouge, had a decades-long history of unsanitary conditions and substandard medical care that most recently led to a woman requiring a full hysterectomy following an incomplete abortion.

Louisiana, Before the Judgment Seat, by Sean Fitzpatrick

By Sean Fitzpatrick, Crisis Magazine - In the Byzantine Divine Liturgy, there is a petition for “a good defense before the awesome judgment seat of God.” I often find that abortion flashes through my mind at that prayer. Given the outrageous atrocity that abortion is in the free world, the free people should expect to answer for it when the Judge takes His seat. Do we have a good defense? What did we do? What could we have done?
