By Jonah McKeown, CNA - Following an op-ed in the New York Times claiming that all pregnancies are life-threatening, a Catholic doctor emphasized that pregnancy is a natural and healthy condition, and that complications which may arise can be treated without abortion… “[Pregnancy] is not a serious health risk to the vast majority of women in this country. And unless these women have some underlying medical problems to begin with, most pregnancies are perfectly normal by any means,” said Dr. Mary Jo O’Sullivan, a high-risk obstetrician and Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami.

By John Zmirak, The Stream - We’re entitled to feel some hope as a wave of pro-life laws is sweeping American states. These laws will likely force the Supreme Court to re-examine the lawless, incoherent decisions on which our status quo now rests: Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton, and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. We welcome such laws… Those three infamous court decisions I named above left a bleak legacy. Thanks to them, it’s de facto legal to abort any child for any reason at all, at any point in the pregnancy, in each of the 50 states. Whatever incremental pro-life laws our dogged legislative supporters have passed… Those three decisions carve out loopholes you could drive a Mack truck through.

Sometimes she arrives to find the place empty. Other times women have already lined up, waiting for one of the last three abortion clinics in the state to open its doors… Ms. Gautreaux’s job is to talk these women out of going inside. She keeps her voice low, avoiding words like “God” or “hell.”… Ms. Gautreaux tells them there’s a center with those resources right next door.
