Steven Ertelt: House Democrats Block Request to Vote on Bill to Stop Infanticide For a Third Time

By Steven Ertelt, LifeNews - This is the fourth time Congressional Democrats thwarted an attempt by Republicans to vote on a bill that would provide medical care and treatment for babies who provide survived failed abortions — three times in the House and once in the Senate… “Before the entire House, (Minority Whip Steve Scalise) asked for immediate consideration of a bill that protects infants born alive during abortions. President Trump’s two Supreme Court appointees, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett M. Kavanaugh, were among the four conservative members of the court who would have allowed the law to take effect.

Supreme Court Stops Enforcement of Pro-Life Louisiana Law After Roberts Joins Pro-Abortion Minority

By Steven Ertelt, LifeNews - The Supreme Court barred enforcement of a Louisiana law called the Unsafe Abortion Protection Act on a five to four vote Thursday night… Pro-abortion attorneys argued that the Louisiana law should be ruled unconstitutional under the precedent of Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt. The Texas law required abortionists to have admitting privileges and required abortion clinics to meet the same standard as ambulatory surgical centers. However, the Louisiana law did not require clinics to meet the ambulatory center requirements.

Lauretta Brown: SCOTUS Faces Potential Test on Abortion as Louisiana Law Is Halted for Review

By Lauretta Brown, Townhall - Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito temporarily halted a Louisiana abortion law late Friday which had been set to go into effect Monday. The law is halted through Thursday and Alito noted in his brief order that the Justices need time to review the filings in the case and the order “does not reflect any view regarding the merits of the petition for a writ of certiorari that applicants represent they will file.”
