(CNS News) — On Jan. 28, Democratic President Joe Biden signed an executive order that rescinds the Mexico City Policy and the Promoting Life in Global Health policy, both of which prevented federal funds from going to groups that promote and provide abortions overseas. Bishops with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) condemned Biden’s actions as furthering the “destruction of human lives in developing nations.”
“It is grievous that one of President Biden’s first official acts actively promotes the destruction of human lives in developing nations,” said Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities, and Bishop David J. Malloy, chairman of the Committee on International Justice and Peace.” …
