CNA: Pope Francis Fills Committee to Monitor Internal Vatican Financial Decisions

Vatican City, Oct 5, 2020 / 06:45 am (CNA).- Pope Francis on Monday named Cardinal Kevin Farrell president of a committee to monitor internal Vatican financial decisions which fall outside of new accountability norms.

Called the “Commission for Reserved Matters,” the five-member group is tasked with overseeing financial agreements which are exempted from Pope Francis’ new public contract law, promulgated June 1.

In addition to Cardinal Farrell, prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life, Pope Francis named Archbishop Filippo Iannone,   ….
