‘We cannot live without the Eucharist’

SAN FRANCISCO ( – A California priest is reinforcing the importance of the Eucharist, both in good times and in bad.

In his Corpus Christi homily at Star of the Sea parish in San Francisco, Fr. Cameron Faller reflected on the lessons the pandemic has taught and what it has revealed about our faith, “for better or for worse.”

Father Faller, vocations director for the San Francisco archdiocese, said the main lesson is that church lockdowns must never happen again. 

“Back on March 16, the federal initiative was called ’15 days to slow the spread.’ Those 15 days would’ve ended on March 31. It’s June 14,” he said.
