Public trust in television news and newspapers has evaporated, but virtually no one in the media is looking inward to find the cause and possible solution, Author and Journalist Glenn Greenwald says, commenting on Gallup’s latest findings about trust in U.S. institutions.

Only the Democrat-controlled Congress is less trusted than television news, Greenwald tweeted Wednesday, noting that television news ranked 15th among the 16 institutions studied, with just 11% of U.S. adults reporting they have either “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in it:

“Public trust in media is close to non-existent. This new Gallup poll reveals that only the Dem-controlled Congress (7%) is trusted less by the public than TV news (11%), with newspapers (16%) also very near the bottom. …
