The Wuhan virus crisis: Between the virus itself, the lockdowns and stay-at-home orders, the summer of rioting and violence, the heated presidential race and numerous allegations of election fraud, 2020 was a year for the history books.

Amid all this, there was some talk on the Left about using this crisis to create a new normal — altering the fabric of society at a time of instability.

For instance, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this in September: “This pandemic has provided an opportunity for a reset. This is our chance to accelerate our pre-pandemic efforts to reimagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality and climate change.”  ….
