Fox News viewers witnessed a lively debate between a show host and a U.S. senator this week, on the cable network’s most-watched program, and a constituent says he was ashamed at what he saw. 

Fox News itself reported on the “spirited debate” between evening host Tucker Carlson and guest Sen. Mike Braun, a Republican from Indiana. The first-term senator was invited on the show to defend his support for the Black Lives Matter group, and defend his bill that would drop legal protections for law enforcement officers.

Sen. Braun (pictured above with Trump) introduced the Reforming Qualified Immunity Act last week, which he told Carlson was necessary because Democrats have seized the issue of police reform, leaving Republicans on the outside of a big issue.

“Chuck Schumer has already decided he can make hay of this in the election,” Braun said, “and we will end up on the short side of it again.”

“I thought Republicans controlled the Senate,” Carlson shot back. “So you’re taking your cues from Chuck Schumer [and] saying, He might criticize me, therefore I have to pass a law that makes it easier to sue police?”  …
