Ahead of this weekend’s National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, pastors are being asked to remember the preborn when they preach and teach about the value of life.
One year ago, President Donald Trump issued a proclamation for National Sanctity of Human Life Day:
“Every person – the born and unborn, the poor, the downcast, the disabled, the infirm, and the elderly – has inherent value,” he stated. “As a Nation, we must remain steadfastly dedicated to the profound truth that all life is a gift from God, who endows every person with immeasurable worth and potential.”
Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League, who has followed the history of the day since it was established by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, says it is different this year. The COVID pandemic has claimed many lives, both from the disease and because of circumstances pushing people beyond what they think they can bear. …
