Is the Leftmedia’s Incendiary ‘Fake News’ the ‘Enemy of the People’?

Trump means the press has become the enemy of the Liberty that has sustained our Republic since its inception.

Last week, Donald Trump¹ was blamed by a broad swath of the Demo/Leftmedia² for using language that incited the threat of violence. The Leftmedia claimed Trump’s words inspired a bankrupt Democrat-hating sociopath³ criminal, who was living in a van plastered with pro-Trump and anti-Democrat stickers, to mail hoax bomb-threat packages⁴ to 15 notable Democrats.

After the quick arrest of that sociopath, The New York Times ran with the headline “A Fervent Backer Of Trump Is Seized In Pipe Bomb Spree.” The Washington Post went with “Bomb Suspect Outspoken Supporter of Trump.”

Recall that in June 2017, one of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s socialist sycophants⁵ attempted and almost succeeded in murdering a field of Republicans⁶. But there were no NYT or WaPo headlines declaring the assailant was “A Fervent Backer” or “Outspoken Supporter” of Sanders.

A day after the arrest of the maker of the fake bombs, a self-styled neo-Nazi sociopath murdered 11 mostly elderly innocents⁷ during a bris ceremony at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. Six people were wounded, including four police officers. The assailant was wounded and captured.

In contrast, Barack Obama⁸, who failed to call the numerous domestic Islamic terrorist hate crimes on his watch what they were, Trump responded to the Pittsburgh attack with resolve: “This evil anti-Semitic attack is an assault on all of us. It’s an assault on humanity. It will require all of us working together to extract the hateful poison of anti-Semitism from the world.”

Trump continued: “Anti-Semitism and the widespread persecution of Jews represents one of the ugliest and darkest features of human history. The vile, hate-filled poison of anti-Semitism must be condemned and confronted everywhere and anywhere it appears. What unites Americans is our common destiny. We mourn for the unthinkable loss of life that took place today, and we pledge in their name to fight for a future of justice, safety, tolerance, morality, dignity, and love. We must all rise above the hate.”

In the days before the Pittsburgh assault, the assailant condemned Trump for being a “globalist” and accused him of being under the control of Israel. Trump is the most pro-Israel president since Ronald Reagan⁹. Trump has always held Jewish people in high esteem, and notably, his son-in-law Jared Kushner is, himself, the son of a Holocaust survivor. Jared and his wife Ivanka are raising Trump’s grandchildren in the Jewish faith.

That notwithstanding, as President and Mrs. Trump prepare to visit with the families of the Pittsburgh victims, the Leftmedia set about to blame Tump for the Pittsburgh attack, as they did the hoax bomb threats.

Responding to that disgraceful “yellow journalism,” Trump fired back in his brash rhetorical style: “There is great anger in our country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!”

When Trump says “fake news” is the “enemy of the people,” he means the enemy of the Liberty¹⁰ that has sustained our Republic since its inception. But Leftmedia protagonists have no idea what that means.

In response, MSM talkingheads are condemning Trump for daring to suggest their words incite fear, anger, and disunity¹¹, which is all the Left has to offer. According to the Leftmedia hypocrites, the only words that matter are those from Trump, not their own nonstop incendiary rhetoric.

Regarding Trump’s MSM callout, distinguished journalist Brit Hume observed, “I don’t think the press is the enemy of the people but I do think the mainstream media have proven themselves to be the enemy of Trump. … There has been more bad and biased reporting such as I have never seen in the 50 years I have been in this business.” (For the record, The Washington Post has never in its history endorsed a Republican for president, and the last Republican endorsed by The New York Times was 1956.)

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to the MSM objections saying, “You guys have a huge responsibility to play in the divisive nature of this country when 90% of the coverage of everything this president does is negative. … Despite the fact that the economy is booming¹² [and] the president has been delivering day in and day out¹³, I think it would be nice if every once in a while you could focus on some of the positive things.”

Grassroots Americans¹⁴, those outside the Beltway and New York media echo chambers, understand Trump’s condemnation of abject Leftmedia bias.

Last June, after the MSM condemned Trump for saying, “Our country’s biggest enemy is the Fake News,” we noted¹⁵ that we founded The Patriot Post because of the danger to Liberty posed by the Leftmedia monopoly on public opinion.
