Another municipality in Mississippi has approved a homosexual-friendly, non-discrimination ordinance, the latest victory in the state for a homosexual rights group.

“Clarksdale, Mississippi Passes LGBT-Inclusive Non-Discrimination Ordinance,” the Human Rights Campaign proclaimed in an August 14 press release that praised the city for an “important step forward.”

The announcement went on to state the “fully-inclusive” ordinance provides civil rights protections in housing, public accomodations, and employment.

The ordinance was passed unanimously with the support of the city’s mayor, Chuck Espy.

Clarksdale, located in the state’s impoverished Delta, is a city of approximately 16,000 best known for attracting Blues fans to local attractions.

The reality behind the ordinance is discrimination against “people of faith” just got the city’s official approval, says Jameson Taylor, Ph.D., of the Mississippi Center for Public Policy.

“These ordinances use the power of the government to force Christians and orthodox Jews, and others,” he warns, “to bow down to the same-sex lifestyle.”

HRC whining about Gov. BryantClarksdale becomes the third Mississippi city to approve such an ordinance.

Jackson passed one in 2016, and Magnolia in 2017, after HRC began a project in 2014, “Project One America,” that is targeting three traditional “red” states of Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi.

The purpose of that effort, HRC has stated, is to change “hearts, minds, and laws” for “full equality.”

But the true purpose behind these ordinances, Taylor tells OneNewsNow, is to take the ongoing culture war a step farther by demanding new rights from landlords, business owners, and employers.

“The radical homosexual lobby is looking for local wins in the South as well as the Midwest,” Taylor continues. “Their goal is to change the culture and the politics one city at a time, one classroom at a time, (and) one book at a time.”
