A conservative military watchdog is questioning why the Air Force is wasting money on special maternity flight uniforms for female pilots and aircrews.

In September 2019, MSN reports that the Air Force updated its policy to reduce restrictions on pregnant aviators who perform flight duties and have uncomplicated pregnancies, allowing many women the choice to keep performing flight duties during their pregnancy, maintain currency, and prevent postpartum re-qualification training.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Team, citing its priorities of comfort and safety, has also been working to develop special maternity flight suits for female aircrew, despite concerns about the substantial health risks aviation poses to the preborn children of pregnant pilots on flight status.  …
