Hold them accountable: That’s what an organization is encouraging news outlets to do with Democratic Party candidates and their extreme views on abortion.
Terry Schilling, executive director for American Principles Project, says that when Republicans make a gaffe or misstatement, the media devises campaigns against them — but not so with Democrats.
“They come up with things like ‘Republican War Against Women,’ but when it comes to Democrats,” says Schilling, “when they’re openly talking about infanticide, as we saw with Governor Ralph Northam, it becomes a one-day hit and they put it under the rug almost immediately.”
Gov. Northam (pictured at right), a former pediatric surgeon, has been the subject of a blistering attack by pro-lifers for an interview in which he discussed how, after a baby is born alive, legislation in Virginia would mean a doctor and mother could discuss whether and how to let the baby die.
OneNewsNow reported in a Feb. 1 story how alternative media outlets and Fox News reported on his comments, but other media was slow to follow.
Northam has since come under fire over accusations he posed for a racist photo in a medical school yearbook
“These are not gaffes,” insists Schilling. “These are Democratic radicals saying that they support infanticide, and we think the American media should expose that and carry it as a legitimate news story and blow it up.”
Meanwhile, Schilling recommends pro-lifers engage with their elected officials and demand they fight issues such as infanticide, while praying for the end of abortion in this country.
