Two alleged cartel members and one person wanted by Interpol for murder in Honduras were among at least 80 people arrested in a raid operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), state and local law enforcement last weekend at the Alamo, an unlicensed nightclub in Summerville, South Carolina.
The investigation, “Operation Last Stand”, began in November after the local police department received noise complaints and reports of assaults on the property.
Eventually, they would involve ICE upon reports of trafficking, narcotics, and weapons within the nightclub.
Among the 80 individuals arrested, 72 were illegal immigrants, the others were arrested on other charges, such as assaulting an officer.
During the raid, ICE agents and local officers discovered 6 juveniles as young as 13, including one reported as missing, as well as potential human trafficking victims. They have since been turned over to social services and have received care. …
