DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) – The speaker of the House once wanted to be a priest owing to a desire for “power.”

Democrat House speaker Nancy Pelosi has been in the spotlight after the archbishop of San Francisco announced plans to block her from receiving Holy Communion over her support for abortion.

An article this week from CNS News highlighted a 2003 interview in which Pelosi explained why she wanted to be a priest when she was growing up. “When I was little, my mother always wanted me to be a nun,” Pelosi said. “I didn’t think I wanted to be a nun, but I thought I might want to be a priest because there seemed to be a little more power there, a little more discretion over what was going on in the parish.” …
