Washington, DC – President Donald Trump posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Tuesday, hailing the slain Turning Point USA founder as a “giant of his generation” whose unyielding defense of faith, family and American liberty will echo through history.

The ceremony, held in the White House Rose Garden to accommodate a swelling crowd of supporters, fell on what would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday.

Kirk’s widow, Erika, accepted the nation’s highest civilian honor on behalf of their young family, her voice steady as she thanked Trump and the thousands who gathered under crisp autumn skies. …
