Democrats are pushing hard for President Trump to immediately leave office, even though he only has a week left in his term. They’re asking Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him — but that’s unlikely after the two cordially met on Monday.

House Speaker Pelosi indicated she’ll rush forward with impeachment if Pence doesn’t cooperate. And it’s not only Democrats who favor impeachment — a few establishment Republicans do as well. With eight days left in Trump’s term, why is there such urgency? It raises questions.

Pelosi claims the president is dangerous and incapable of finishing his term. She also believes Trump needs to pay for inciting protesters on Capitol Hill to violence last week. But did he?  …
