Austin, Texas – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit today against a New York doctor who illegally sent abortion pills to a pregnant woman in Texas.

New York physician Margaret Daley Carpenter trafficked the drugs across state lines without possessing a Texas medical license or authorization to practice telemedicine in the state.

Dr. Carpenter prescribed and supplied two drugs to cause an abortion. The 20-year-old mother was then hospitalized for severe bleeding, and her nine-week-old preborn baby passed away. The child’s father later found the abortion pills in their home in Collin County. …
