President Donald Trump, minutes after Congress certified Democrat Joe Biden’s Electoral College Victory and hours after demonstrators broke into the Capitol, pledged “an orderly transition” to the incoming administration.
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” Trump said in a statement posted on Twitter Thursday morning by Dan Scavino, the White House deputy chief of staff.
The president was unable to post the statement on his personal Twitter account. It was locked by the social media company because of messages he posted Wednesday related to the day’s violent protests. …
