Louisiana judge BLOCKS state from enforcing abortion ban as Mississippi says its ‘trigger law’ will go into effect in 10 days’ time: 13 states with similar statutes now head to court against legal challenges

A Louisiana judge on Monday temporarily blocked the state from banning abortions despite ‘trigger laws’ that automatically outlawed the procedure following the Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe v. Wade on Friday.
The halt on the ban comes after the Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit on behalf of three of the state’s abortions clinics claiming the trigger law violates rights under the state’s constitution and ‘lack constitutionally required safeguards to prevent arbitrary enforcement.’
The 1973 landmark Supreme Court case that granted women the right to an abortion, Roe v. Wade, was overturned on Friday. …
