John ZmirakYes, it’s April Fool’s Day. No, I’m not writing a satire here at The Stream. As Al Perrotta points out in his Brew column, satire is almost obsolete. The Babylon Bee is so hard to distinguish from the New York Times that Facebook fact-checks the former. (And not the latter, which is a shame since somebody ought to fact-check those stories, and the Times no longer does.)

But I digress. I will take the occasion of my second favorite holiday (after Halloween) to encourage satire. And ribaldry. And raucous parody, scorn, even contempt for the phony pieties our elites are trying to stuff through all of our orifices. Mock without mercy or the slightest hint of pity the priests of Baal and their followers. …
