The political heat is growing for John Kerry to step down from international politics, likely for good, after it was alleged this week he once disclosed an American ally’s secret military operations to an enemy of the United States.
Kerry has denied a New York Times story — technically one paragraph in that story — that he disclosed Israel’s military operations in Syria to Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister.
According to the Times, it obtained a copy of leaked audio in which Zarif is describing various political struggles within Iran to another Iranian who was recording the conversation for a documentary. At one point in the meandering discussion, which was supposed to be largely off the record, Zarif says Kerry informed him that Israel had attacked Iranian interests in Syria at least 200 times. …
