Feminists are panicking and using their platforms to try to scare mothers back to the cubicle. But it is they who should be ashamed for demeaning motherhood.

Media outfits such as The Washington Post and Forbes are shocked that mothers are leaving the workforce in record numbers.

According to WaPo economics correspondent Abha Bhattarai, “The share of working mothers ages 25 to 44 with young children has fallen nearly every month this year, dropping by nearly 3 percentage points between January and June, to the lowest level in more than three years, according to an analysis of federal data by Misty Heggeness, a professor at the University of Kansas and former principal economist at the Census Bureau.”

When the parenting platform Motherly asked women why, here is what it found:

  • 54% say childcare is barely or not at all affordable.
  • 39% cite childcare costs as one of their top two financial burdens, second only to overall financial uncertainty.
  • 50% of Millennial and 52% of Gen Z moms have considered leaving their jobs because the stress and cost of childcare outweigh earnings. ….
