WASHINGTON (October 15, 2020) — President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden squared off, in a way, on rival TV networks, Thursday night, their scuttled second debate replaced by dueling televised town halls that showcased striking differences in temperament, views on racial justice and approaches to the pandemic that has reshaped the nation.
NBC hosted President Trump at a town hall in Miami. Host Savannah Guthrie sounded more like a member of the Democratic party as she seemed to attack the President’s handling of the pandemic and made it sound like Trump has been unclear in denouncing white supremacy.
Some observers said it looked more like Guthrie was debating Trump rather than facilitating a town hall meeting. …
