Bishop Joseph Edward Strickland, founder of Pillars of Faith, is a successor of the Apostles whose life and ministry are marked by a profound fidelity to Jesus Christ. Grounded in prayer, devoted to the Holy Eucharist and to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and committed to the salvation of souls, Bishop Joseph E. Strickland has served the Church for over four decades as a priest, pastor, teacher, and bishop. Now Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Tyler, he continues his apostolic mission with an even larger flock – shepherding souls across the nation and beyond with truth, courage, and unwavering fidelity to Christ.

He is known for his unwavering defense of the Deposit of Faith, his pastoral heart, and his courageous witness in an age of great moral and doctrinal confusion.

Now through Pillars of Faith, Bishop Strickland continues to speak, write, and teach in defense of the Deposit of Faith – guiding souls to live the Catholic faith with fidelity and boldness.

The name Pillars of Faith finds inspiration in the powerful vision of St. John Bosco, who saw the Church as a great ship in stormy seas – anchored between two mighty pillars: the Holy Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is between these two pillars that the Church finds safety and triumph, even amid the fiercest storms. This vision shapes our mission, anchoring us in Christ and sending us into the world.
