WASHINGTON, DC – Should doctors and nurses be forced to participate in abortions?
As LifeNews reported in May, President Donald Trump issued new rules that further protect doctors, nurses and medical professionals who don’t want to be forced to do abortions or refer for them. Trump announced new regulations through the Department of Health and Human Services that will more effectively enforce existing federal laws that protect the conscience rights of healthcare providers.
While the Trump Administration released new rules last month designed to protect them from being forced to violate their conscience, Democrats in Congress think otherwise.
During consideration of a federal government spending measure late last night, House Democrats voted against an amendment that would keep the Trump administration’s pro-life rules protecting medical professionals in place.
