In the Olden Days, in “Days of Yore,” and even in the early part of the Twentieth Century, Americans would have called them “thugs,” “gangsters,” “the Mafia,” “mobsters,” and other appropriate descriptors that signaled their criminal intent and activities.
Today, most of the people steering popular conversation in pop media call them “regulators” and “agency heads,” “officials” and “envoys,” “facilitators,” and even “Czars.” And one of the most inescapable, impossible-to-ignore thugs on today’s list is “Climate Czar” — aka “U.S. Special Envoy for THE Climate” — John Kerry. …
