ROME, 23 February 2026 — Cardinal Robert Sarah has expressed his “grave concern” following the Society of Saint Pius X’s announcement that they intend to proceed with episcopal ordinations on July 1 without a pontifical mandate.

Previously published in French only in an abbreviated form, the full English translation of Cardinal Sarah’s appeal is presented below for the first time, with His Eminence’s kind permission.
