This is an URGENT call for prayer to the Holy Spirit to cover the November 2018 meeting of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

From November 6th through the end of the US Bishops’ meeting on November 14th  we ask that the Novena to the Holy Spirit (below) be prayed in order for the Holy Spirit to guide the US Bishops in their discussions and decisions for the continued purification of the Church.

We ask that you join St Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Libertytown, MD in this call for prayer for the Bishops’ meeting by joining us during the scheduled Holy Hours, by organizing Holy Hours at your own parishes, and encouraging families to pray the Novena to the Holy Spirit within their homes.  The heart and the soul of the Roman Catholic Church in the US is at stake.  It is up to the Holy Spirit to guide the hearts of the US Bishops to continue the purification of the Church.  Please join us in prayer to the Holy Spirit.

Please pray the following prayers each day from November 6 to November 14:

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

On my knees I before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses I offer the bishops of the universal Church, soul and body to You, Eternal Spirit of God.  We especially offer this novena for the bishops of the United States who are meeting in convocation to seek guidance and solutions to the crisis of our time.

I adore the brightness of Your purity, the unerring keenness of Your justice, and the might of Your love.  You are the Strength and Light of our souls.  In You we live and move and are.  I desire never to grieve You by unfaithfulness to grace and I pray with all my heart to keep me and all bishops from the smallest sin against You.  Mercifully guard our bishops’ every thoughts and grant that they may always watch for Your light, and listen to Your voice, and follow Your gracious inspirations.  I cling to You and give myself to You and ask You, by Your compassion to watch over me and all bishops in our weaknesses.  Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds, and trusting in His Precious Blood and adoring His opened Side and stricken Heart, I implore You, Adorable Spirit, Helper of our infirmity, to keep me and all bishops in Your grace that we may never sin against You.  Give us grace O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and the Son to say to You always and everywhere, “Speak Lord for Your servants are listening.” Amen.

PRAY:

“O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You”

PRAY

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Divine Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
