Military history is replete with famous battles that turned the tide in war. When a superior force overextended itself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then there was Napoleon’s unwise invasion of Russia in 1812. His army managed to victoriously march and fight its way into Moscow, but the Russians’ harassing retreat and burning of the capital left the soldiers stranded and underfed.
