WASHINGTON, DC – Planned Parenthood’s political arm described women’s legal right to kill their unborn babies as “economic justice” Friday on Twitter.
The abortion giant, which is fighting with the Trump administration over the hundreds of millions of dollars it receives in taxpayer funding, wants even more tax dollars to directly fund elective abortions, something it campaigned heavily for during the 2016 presidential election.
“Abortion is an economic justice issue, as @sikivuhutch puts its, ‘a vital pathway that affords women access to jobs, housing, education, and wealth equity when they’re in control of their bodies and destinies.’ #NoGagRule,” the Planned Parenthood Action Fund wrote Friday, linking an article on the pro-abortion blog Rewire.
The abortion giant claims abortions help women achieve economic justice by giving them the freedom to achieve their dreams without the burden of a child. But within that claim is the implication that women are not capable of achieving their education or career goals without abortion on demand.
Though meant to be empowering, the claim really is demeaning toward women – not to mention their unborn babies. The notion that women need to be able to kill their own children to achieve the same equality as men is both horribly insulting and violent.
Courageous mothers who choose life for their unborn babies in difficult circumstances prove the abortion industry wrong. Women can be parents and graduate from college, achieve economic success and pursue the job of their dreams. These women often are praised as heroines for overcoming difficulties to give themselves and their children better lives.
Aborting an innocent human child in the womb does not bring women out of poverty or provide them with better housing or provide them more financial success. The only thing an abortion leaves them with is a dead child.
