CV NEWS FEED // A priest shared encouraging advice this week on how parents can respond if their adult child leaves the Catholic Faith.

“I always tell parents that you always have to have hope,” said Father Mark Wood from the Diocese of Little Rock, Arkansas, as he discussed the issue with local news outlet Arkansas Catholic on November 27.

Wood has spent 35 years as a priest, and said that he has seen how important it is for parents to live the Faith in the home. He noted that it is best when the Faith is lived out of motivation to be in relationship with God, and not strictly out of obligation. “If I find a young adult or adult who is active and practicing their faith, usually I can trace it back to their parents, the example of their parents in the home,” Wood said. …
