Washington, DC – Pro-Life Congressman Jim Jordan today won the support of House Republicans to be their nominee for Speaker of the House.

Today’s vote came after a tumultuous 48 hours in which pro-life Congressman Steve Scalise won the endorsement of House Republicans to be Speaker and subsequently withdrew from the race when it was determined he would not get the votes of all Republicans on the floor to become speaker.

In a second election today, Jordan defeated Rep. Austin Scott of Georgia. Scott declared his intention to run for speaker on Friday and Republicans went directly into a vote this afternoon. …
