Catholic media are spreading the news that the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops (TCCB) is celebrating the Texas Heartbeat Act. The conference released its statement Friday after the Supreme Court refused to immediately block the historic law. But Church Militant’s Trey Blanton reveals the bishops’ support is lukewarm at best.

The bishops in the Lone Star State are claiming victory after the “heartbeat law” went into effect. Their statement was released a day after Church Militant emailed the conference asking why the TCCB did not publicly testify in support of the law, or why it had not yet released a statement praising Wednesday’s Supreme Court decision. …
