(CNS News) — Last week, the archbishop of San Francisco publicly announced that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is not allowed to receive Communion at Mass until she repents of her advocacy for abortion, which is considered to be murder, a grave sin by the Catholic Church.
Following that lead, the Catholic bishop of Tyler, Texas said Pelosi also is barred from Communion in his diocese until she “repents” and “stops advocating the murder of children.”
In a May 25 tweet, Bishop Joseph Strickland, head of the Diocese of Tyler, said, “The concern for Mrs Pelosi’s eternal salvation extends to the Diocese of Tyler. She is barred from Communion here until she repents & stops advocating the murder of children.” …
